My name is Debra, and I was born and raised in Narok County, Kenya, to a nomadic family. My community constantly migrates in search of water and pasture for human and livestock consumption. As a child, I spent most of my time herding my family's livestock, which left me with no opportunity to access formal education. When I reached my teenage years, I underwent an initiation ceremony into adulthood, and soon after, my family arranged a marriage for me. Since then, my life has been dedicated to raising my children and taking care of my husband. However, with the high cost of living and the effects of climate change on farming, I am struggling to make ends meet. I am writing to appeal for help from well-wishers. I would appreciate support in the form of capacity building for climate-smart agriculture or enabling me to set up a small but sustainable livelihood income-generating activity such as chicken rearing. This assistance will enable me to provide for my family, and we will be able to access improved food security, nutrition, and healthcare, which will significantly improve our quality of life.
