My name is Naitayu and I was born and raised in Narok County, Kenya as part of a nomadic pastoral community. Our way of life involves frequent migration in search of water and pasture for our livestock and ourselves. As a result, I never received a formal education and spent my childhood herding our family's livestock. After reaching my teenage years, I was initiated into young adulthood and shortly thereafter was married off to a suitor chosen by my family. Since then, my life has been focused on raising my children and taking care of my husband. However, due to the high cost of living and climate change, farming has become an unreliable source of income, making it difficult for me to make ends meet. Therefore, I am kindly appealing for support from well-wishers in the form of capacity building on climate-smart agriculture or setting up a small but sustainable livelihood income-generating activity, such as chicken rearing. This support would enable me to provide for my family, improve our food security and nutrition, and access much-needed healthcare, ultimately improving the quality of our lives.
