My name is Grace, a 71-year-old female born and raised in central Kenya. I have experienced a lot of challenges in my life. I am widowed, and blind and rely on my daughter Rehab and other people to help me move around.
My daughter Rahab is 40 years old and a single mother of two daughters and takes care of me and her siblings. We all depend on Rahab for food and other needs including the school fees for her siblings as well as her two daughters. She depends on casual jobs in the coffee farms for a small income which is becoming impossible due to hard economic times contributed by the inconsistent rain patterns which has led to less work in the farms.
I am therefore kindly appealing for support from well-wishers to help me achieve my vision that aims to break the cycle of poverty and ensure a brighter future for my family. We as a family aspire to establish a small family business (Dairy Farming) that will not only guarantee our sustenance but also create a foundation for the education of my children and grandchildren. I strongly believe that education is key to unlocking opportunities that shape their destiny.
This support will also enable my family and I, to access improved food security and nutrition as well as the much-needed healthcare and hence improve the quality of my life.
