Hi, my name is Lucy and I am a 50-year-old single mother who was born and raised in Kiambu County, Kenya.
Unfortunately, I was not able to complete my education due to various circumstances, and as a result, I had to rely on manual jobs in coffee plantations to provide for my family. However, the money I earn from these jobs is not enough to pay for my children's education, and my daughter even had to drop out of school after getting pregnant. She is now working in the coffee plantations too, and hopes to join a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) program such as hairdressing to attain skills that will help her secure employment. I am appealing to anyone who can help me break the cycle of poverty and create a brighter future for my family. My goal is to establish a small family business - a poultry farm - that will not only provide for us but also create a foundation for my children's education. I believe that education is the key to unlocking opportunities that can shape their destiny. With your support, my family and I can access improved food security and nutrition, as well as the much-needed healthcare that will improve the quality of our lives. Thank you for considering my appeal.
